MP Rushton Paray commissioned the Biche Parliamentary Sub – Office located on Adventist Street, Biche.
The MP welcomed and thanked each person for accepting the invitation and joining him and his staff at the opening of this office. Owing to the Covid 19 Restrictions, limited invitations were extended.
MP Paray advised of the change of name away from a Constituency Sub Office, to that of the BICHE SERVICE CENTER. The MP thanked the Parliament for finally making the facility available for use almost after 5 years.
Although Sub- Offices are manned on a temporary basis, the MP insisted that the Biche Service Center will be opened every week day in the first instance, and weekend support if necessary.
The change of name was in keeping with the purpose of the facility to “serve” the people of the Biche/Charuma Electoral District.
The MP expects to service constituents of the adjacent areas which fall under Cumuto Manzanilla Constituency in what ever possible way due to proximity. The MP Office will then pass requests on to that office where necessary.
The facility will provide Internet and Printing Services for students who have limited online access and are in need of additional support.
He encouraged the members of the audience to join with him in bringing services to Biche. MP Paray also offered his space to Councillor Moona to access her burgesses until her office becomes available in the future.
The MP committed to be physically present at least twice per month and be virtually present every day. The Biche Service Center is equipped with HSIA and Video Conferencing for Virtual meetings. All three Parliamentary Offices are now now connected Virtually for easy access to services.
MP Paray used the opportunity to demonstrate a self service Kiosk were request to the MP Office can be made via a Kiosk placed in high traffic areas such as Supermarkets , Convenience Stores and Pharmacies.
He demonstrated the Kiosk with the assistance of Councillor Moona. This will assist in bringing services closer to the people using technology.
Attending today launch was Councillor for Biche/Charuma Charlene Moona who brought greetings greetings from the Chairman of the Mayaro Rio Claro Regional Corporation.
Office Manager for the Member of Parliament Cumuto Manzanilla Mr Glen Ram represented MP Dr. Rai Ragbir. Mr. Ram agreed that collaboration with MP Rai and MP Paray will be important in tackling serious issues within both Constituencies.
PC Mendoza and Mr. Sutton ( the refurbishment contractor) also offered welcoming words of congratulations.
Pastor Aberdeen and Pundit Mohan blessed the evening proceedings.
